Research and Development

The fundamental task of the Institute is to perform basic and application oriented research in an interdisciplinary setting in the field of computer science and engineering, information technology, intelligent systems, process control, wide-area networking and multimedia.

While research and development are interdependent, the institute has differentiated the two by grouping the departments under two Divisions – one for research and the other for development. Most of the commercial and industrial relationships are between the units within the Development Division and the input from the researchers is added value for the clients of the Institute.

Many of the Departments as well as some of the projects have been described in downloadable PDF brochures and some have their own websites linked to the Institutes website – we invite the readers to go deeper into the lives of our teams.
